What this is

Batch is a mobile marketing automation platform that helps businesses engage with their users through personalised messaging across channels such as push notifications, email, SMS and in-app messages. The Batch source is the built-in connector that brings the data Batch holds about your users back into Zeotap CDP as Customer Data (CE), carrying Install IDs, Advertising IDs and Custom IDs, so it can contribute to unified customer profiles alongside your other sources. It sits under the Customer Engagement Channels category in Sources, and it is a scheduled integration rather than a live stream. The connector authenticates with the Live API Key and REST API Key you copy from the Batch console, and data arrives as a JSON or CSV file on the sync frequency you choose when you create the source — Daily, Weekly or Monthly. The first sync runs as soon as the source is created; every sync after that follows the schedule.

Prerequisites

Before you create a Batch source, confirm:
  • You have a Batch account, and your mobile applications are already integrated with Batch — they appear on the Batch dashboard once they are.
  • You can reach the General tab of the Batch console SETTINGS page, where the Live API Key and REST API Key the connector needs are shown.
  • You have permission to create sources in your Zeotap CDP tenant.

When to use a Batch source

Create a Batch source when:
  • Your mobile messaging runs through Batch, and you want that data available in Zeotap CDP for unification, audience building and activation.
  • A daily, weekly or monthly refresh is timely enough for the use case. This is a file-based, scheduled integration, so it is not the way to react to a user action within moments of it happening — the freshest data available through this source is the last completed sync.
  • You are connecting one Batch account. As with every Zeotap source, create one source per origin rather than reusing an existing source for a second account.
Batch as a source, or Batch as a destination? They are two separate integrations that point in opposite directions. This source brings Batch data into Zeotap CDP. To send a Zeotap audience out to Batch, use one of the Batch destinations — Batch or Batch CEP, which is recommended for new integrations.
