# Flat Files (CE+NCE)

Flat Files store data collected from external sources, often in formats like CSV or JSON, which can be directly uploaded from the Sources user interface or through other methods like the GCloud Console, GS Utils, or through third-party tools like Cyberduck. This data must be tied to at least one identifier, preferably both the client's first-party user ID (must be the same as sent in the Web JS or App SDKs) and a digital identifier like MAID, to facilitate user matching.
